Trans Healthcare in ICE
Fall 2023
Dr. Christina Andrade, Pharm.D., BCPS, NCPS discussed her work providing care to members of the Trans community in ICE detention. Her dedication to ensuring appropriate and dignified care to members of one of our most marginalized communities is truly inspirational. She is an amazing role model for the many PiPA members interested in using our Pharm.D. degrees to create positive change in the world.

Stigma Matters
Spring 2023
Stigma against members of the LGBTQ+ community is widely present in the U.S. While societal attitudes appear to be slowly shifting towards fair treatment of LGBTQ+ people, the devastating impact of discrimination in employment, housing, and healthcare remain. Studies regarding the harm caused by this stigma were discussed in addition to personal stories of PiPA officers impacted by anti-LGBTQ+ bias.
How to be an Ally
Spring 2023
We asked an amazing supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community, Dr. Christopher Schriever, to share his personal journey to becoming an ally and discuss the necessity of building bridges across communities when providing superior patient care.

Part of PiPA's mission is to improve relations between students in the LGBTQ+ community and our peer students. We hope to regularly hold these game nights to further understanding and foster a sense of belonging for all students.
